People's Bank and Trust State Depository 
on the south side of Main Street just east of Front Street.

Fred Hancock, a mail carrier was only 19 when he was killed on Thursday, December 23, 1909, crossing the railroad tracks as he headed east out of town.   The stacks of lumber in the lumberyard blocked both Fred's view and that of the engineer.
